Mr. Discontinued?! We Think Not! How to Make your Father Feel Special on the Big Day!!

In Father of the Bride, one of the most iconic wedding films of all time (in our opinion), George Banks has a difficult time coping with his daughter’s upcoming nuptials. “I was no longer the man in my little girl’s life. I was like an old shoe. The kind we manufacture and get all excited about, then after a few years discontinue. That was me now. Mr. Discontinued.”

With Father’s Day approaching this weekend- we thought we would chat a bit about what you can do to honor your father on the big day. We don’t want your Dad feeling like an old shoe!

We found this terrific article on Huffington Post with great ways to incorporate your dad! Check it out!

{Wedding Wednesday} All White

There is nothing more beautiful than a classic white wedding.  The mood it sets is as romantic as it is lighthearted and fun.

We’re all for colors and patterns, but we just can’t help continuously falling in love with an all white palette.

Now, for our brides and planners who are not the biggest fans of going “all white” it can absolutely serve as a base to build off of.  Using mainly white in your wedding (or event), leaves so much room to add the subtelest details and make them stand out so much more.

With spring upon us, adding green plants, trees or even vegetables (yep!) attracts your guests’ eyes and doesn’t allow your meaningful details to go unnoticed- which many times, they do!

Don’t be afraid to go with all white bridesmaids. You can always offset with colorful bouquets or colored shoes.  We absolutely love the playful idea of all white bridal parties because it’s so carefree and simple.

Adding small details like custom cocktails to go with the theme, candy and dessert bars and candles are sweet elements to add.  The dim lighting from the candles will add a romantic feel, while the candy bars will create a fun element for your guests.

As always, feel free to contact us with any questions you might have regarding this post or any event.

Happy Wedding Weddnesday!
