Football season, Pumpkin Latte Season, Fall Season but Engagement Season? Is that a thing?? Great question, and Engagement Season is most certainly a reality!! Every year between Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day there seems to be a rush of proposals. WeddingWire.com estimates that approximately one in three of all engagements take place during this time frame. At Touch of Elegance we want you to be ready to drop to one knee, so we put together a list of some of the most awe inspiring proposals on the net; cause let’s be honest you are going to be telling this story for YEARS. LET’S MAKE IT FABULOUS!!!!!
1. Over a Cup of Coffee
We love the idea of a surprise attack!! Sip a morning coffee with your loved one and when they finish it off they will be blown away, and most importantly fully alert to answer “YES!!”
2. Between the Pages of Their Favorite Book
We are obsessed with proposals that sneak up on you!! Opening your book to do some reading and finding a beautiful ring is definitely most unexpected. Bonus points for a romantic book or for highlighting letters to spell out “WILL YOU MARRY ME.”
3. A Cute Puppy is Hard to Say No To!
Who could possibly say no to that adorable face?! Using your puppy to help with the proposal is a great way to get the whole gang involved.
4. Photo Booth “I DO”
Getting your proposal on camera is always a plus!! A photo booth is a great way to show the progression of the proposal. Your significant other will not be expecting it!
5. Spell it out with a magical Hot Air Balloon
Have your special someone look to the sky for the big proposal. This engagement idea has such a big wow factor that no one will be able to resist saying YES!!
6. A Fabulous Fortune!!
A cozy night in with chinese becomes a night of a lifetime with a special fortune!!
After countless drinks, and busting out your best moves on the dance floor, a little midnight snack is always appreciated! Late night wedding eats are a huge trend of 2015, and brides and grooms are having so much fun with it! We planned a wedding recently where the groom wanted White Castle burgers brought in at the end of the night!
Guests loved a delicious treat to take with them on their journey home! While burgers are quite popular, we also love these other creative late night eats ideas!!! Who’s hungry?!?!
Fill personalized bags with the popcorn of your choice: regular, garlic, cheddar, or even caramel corn!! Your guests will love that they can grab and go with this special treat.
Coffee and Donuts
Offer your guests some coffee, to offset all that champagne, while they munch on a delicious donut from your favorite local place! You can add some detail by including your initials and wedding date on the cups!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE
Milk and cookies
Bring things back to the good old days; who doesn’t love milk and cookies?!?! We’re obsessed with these heart-shaped cookies, talk about wedding perfection!
Pretzel and a Coke
A salty pretzel is just the thing to grab after a lot of dancing! Pair that delicious pretzel with an adorable bottled coke or soda for the perfect “end- of- wedding” snack!

In Father of the Bride, one of the most iconic wedding films of all time (in our opinion), George Banks has a difficult time coping with his daughter’s upcoming nuptials. “I was no longer the man in my little girl’s life. I was like an old shoe. The kind we manufacture and get all excited about, then after a few years discontinue. That was me now. Mr. Discontinued.”
With Father’s Day approaching this weekend- we thought we would chat a bit about what you can do to honor your father on the big day. We don’t want your Dad feeling like an old shoe!
We found this terrific article on Huffington Post with great ways to incorporate your dad! Check it out!
We love to keep up to date on wedding trends. Recently we found this article on the Knot of the best trends for 2015! Royal Color Palettes? White Glove Affairs?! YES PLEASE!! Here are some photos of an event we … Continue reading

Happy Wedding Wednesday!
Hope all of you are having a beautiful weekend so far.
With wedding season in full swing, there are many important elements that we need to address. Every bride of course wants to look flawless on their big day- and they should!
Apart from the anticipated dress, hair make up and all of the small details play a big part in a brides’ look.
Many brides choose to wear pieces that belonged to their mother, grandmother or other family member that are very important to them- and with reason!
When choosing jewelry for your wedding though, there are a few things to take into consideration!
1) Stylemake sure the jewelry you choose complements and actually fits in with your wedding dress and other accessories. You want to stick to one style. Over dressing your wrists and neck can make it look tacky or misplaced.
2) Cost– if you are not borrowing jewelry from someone or wearing your own, consider cost here. There is not much reasoning behind spending an outstanding amount of money on jewelry, especially if it is specific to this occasion. There are endless options of costume jewelry. There are so many opportunities for jewelry to get lost on a day where you are shuffling around. Visit different stores, try on different pieces, even purchase one or two prior to your wedding to make sure you are not allergic.
3) Photography yes. This can also be tied in with cost. Of course when you are opting to go the less expensive route, you want to consider how it will look in photographs. Take pictures of the jewelry in different lighting to see how it will turn out in photographs.
These are only a few things to consider when searching for adornment on your big day. See This blog for a few more helpful hints!
Below are a few beautiful pierces that are sure to add beauty to any bridal attire and will not break the bank!
There is nothing more beautiful than a classic white wedding. The mood it sets is as romantic as it is lighthearted and fun.
We’re all for colors and patterns, but we just can’t help continuously falling in love with an all white palette.
Now, for our brides and planners who are not the biggest fans of going “all white” it can absolutely serve as a base to build off of. Using mainly white in your wedding (or event), leaves so much room to add the subtelest details and make them stand out so much more.
With spring upon us, adding green plants, trees or even vegetables (yep!) attracts your guests’ eyes and doesn’t allow your meaningful details to go unnoticed- which many times, they do!
Don’t be afraid to go with all white bridesmaids. You can always offset with colorful bouquets or colored shoes. We absolutely love the playful idea of all white bridal parties because it’s so carefree and simple.
Adding small details like custom cocktails to go with the theme, candy and dessert bars and candles are sweet elements to add. The dim lighting from the candles will add a romantic feel, while the candy bars will create a fun element for your guests.
As always, feel free to contact us with any questions you might have regarding this post or any event.
